The new distribution networks are boosting sales of insurance policies

The new distribution channels, including telephone and e-mail sales, are increasing insurers’ profits.
The most spectacular results are achieved in the provinces. These new means of distribution generated 183 million USD of cash throughout the first six months of 2011, that is, 25% higher than those recorded over the same period in 2010.

This figure accounts for 3.5% of the total market which is estimated at 156.5 billion THB (5.5 billion USD). The classic mode of distribution through agents and bancassurance respectively represent 60% and 34% of the market.
