The new international regulation should not affect the insurers' ratings

According to Fitch Ratings , the international regulation drafted by the International Association of Insurance Supervisors ( IAIS ) should not have a significant impact on the ratings of insurers.

Systemic insurers are the only ones concerned by this project. The entry into force of the new regulation is scheduled for 2019.

The cost of the reform for insurers already well capitalized , would however annihilate the expected gains regarding risk management.
The new requirements might even affect the profitability of European insurers who started the introduction of Solvency 2 standards.
