The number of mergers and acquisitions continues

Mergers and acquisitions have not abated in the Asia-Pacific region in recent years. With 59 operations finalized in 2014 against 55 the previous year, the number of mergers and acquisitions in the Asia Pacific region is poised to continue.

This performance is consistent with the pace of this kind of global transactions which rose from 319 in 2013 to 384 in 2014.

Unlike Europe and the United States, Asia, and the Pacific have been hardly hit by the financial crisis.

The region has significant development potential for insurers, with Japan and Australia reporting the highest number of mergers and acquisitions.
They are followed by South Korea and Malaysia, then China and Indonesia.
