The war accounts for the decrease of market turnover

According to the President of the Lebanese Association of Insurance Companies (ACAL), the impact of the war in Lebanon on the sector is tremendous with the loss of about 25% of the turnover in 2006.

The total premium volume which amounted to 600 million USD in 2005 is poised to dwindle down to 400 million USD.
