The wildfires that devastated California could cost 3.5 billion USD

The rating agency Moody's has estimated that the fires that destroyed the South of California from October 21 to November 4, 2003 could cost up to 3.5 billion dollars. The disaster would thus top the list of the most expensive fires in American history, ahead of the Oakland Hills fires in October 1991, that cost 1.7 billion USD.
