The year 2009 witnessed the arrival of 170 new insurance intermediaries, agents and brokers, in Morocco. The number of licensed agents has risen from 745 in 2008 to 889 in 2009, that is, 19% more. As to brokers, their number has grown from 29% to 360. More than a third of intermediaries are operating in Casablanca. The number of banking and postal agents authorized to distribute insurance products is of 4231.
