Tunis Re, good results in the third quarter of 2012 and a new office in Côte d’Ivoire

Tunis Re continues to grow at a steady pace. Turnover by September 30, 2012 increased by 22% compared to the same period last year. Re takaful activity, whose start was made in 2011, reported 1.120 million TND (0.712 million USD) of premiums for the first three quarters, compared to the 0.731 million TND (0.515 million USD) made in 2011, that is an increase of 53%. During the same period, the overall incurred losses went down from 50 594 847 TND (35 657 224 USD) to 25 760 724 TND (16 377 895 USD). This 49% decrease indicates a return to a normal loss experience after the exceptional events of 2011. Financial income attained 3 752 319 TND (2 385 611 USD).
Tunis Re has also announced the opening, since November 1st 2012 of a representation office in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Managed by Mounir Hachicha, this office aims at strengthening the company’s presence in Sub-Saharan Africa.
