Tunis Re: H1 2021 results

As of 30 June 2021, the activity of Tunis Re was marked by a slight decrease in premium income and an improvement of the incurred losses.

Set at 79.83 million TND (28.58 million USD) compared to 82.94 million TND (28.78 million USD) in 2020, during H1 2021 premiums decreased by 3.7%. This decline is due to the health crisis which impacted the technical risks, transport and life activities.

The takaful activity has sustained a 20% turnover decrease, set at 7.226 million TND (2.58 million USD) compared to 9.022 million TND (3.13 million USD) one year earlier.

During H1 2021, the incurred losses improved by 19% from 52.805 million TND (18.32 million USD) as at 30 June 2020, to 42.712 million TND (15.29 million USD) in the current year. The loss ratio improved by 5 points and stood at 55%.

The financial products remained stable set at 12.477 million TND (4.46 million USD).
