Unprecedented amounts to insure a foreign cricket team

A novelty in the field of insurance. On the occasion of the cricket match on April 12, 2005, opposing India to Pakistan, the organizers have insured the visiting team for an amount of 445 000 USD. Each of the 16 Pakistani players and staff members have been insured for a sum of 22 000 USD during their stay in Ahmedabad (India), a town shaken by violent incidents involving Muslim and Hindu communities in 2002.
