WAICA Re in East Africa and soon in Asia and the Middle East

West African Companies Association (WAICA) is planning to open an office in 2016 in Kenya with a view to underwrite in East Africa.
The company had previously been present only in countries where it had investors, mainly Ghana and Nigeria. In the second quarter of 2015, WAICA Re will expand its underwriting sphere to French-speaking West Africa without ruling out the prospect of entering Asian and Middle Eastern markets in a second phase.

The reinsurer, founded in 2011, is endowed with a capital of 25 million USD and a turnover that increased from 6.33 million USD in 2011 to 56.06 million USD in 2013. WAICA Re is hoping to achieve a premium volume of 66 million USD by the end of this year.
