Zurich Insurance seeking M&A in China

Stuart Spencer, CEO of the Asia-Pacific region of Zurich Insurance, has announced the willingness of the Swiss insurer to use M&A to "extend [their] business scope" in China.

These statements follow the recent announcement by the insurance regulatory commission (CIRC) to facilitate M&A in the sector.

Zurich Insurance had already obtained, in April 2013, the agreement of the CIRC to convert its Beijing's branch into a wholly owned subsidiary.
