Aon to acquire broker NFP

Aon has acquired NFP, a leading U.S. property-casualty broker, asset manager and retirement plan advisor.

Aon signed a definitive agreement with US funds Madison Dearborn Partners (MDP) and HPS Investment Partners on 20 December 2023, for a transaction valued at 13.4 billion USD.

Pending regulatory approval, the acquisition is expected to be finalized in mid-2024.

Doug Hammond, CEO of NFP, will continue to lead the company, and will report to Eric Andersen, President of Aon.
