Bahraini insurance market in H1 2021

The totality of Bahraini insurers recorded a 6.7% increase in their turnover in H1 2021. Written premiums reached 143.7 million BHD (379.03 million USD) as of 30 June 2021 compared to 134.625 million BHD (354.467 million USD) during the same period of 2020.

The market is driven by the health insurance activity, which generates 45.729 million BHD (120.617 million USD) in turnover. This business represents 32% of the total underwritten business as of 30 June 2021.

The motor and life classes of business rank second and third with 24% and 21.15% market shares respectively.
