The Ghanaian Government has underwritten its first-ever drought insurance policy. It was issued by the African Risk Capacity (ARC) and financed up to 1 million USD by the German development bank KfW.

This action is aimed at protecting the agricultural sector and safeguarding food security against increasingly high climatic risks.
