According to the Report of the Observatory of the Evolution of Insurance Professions (ROMA 2020), the insurance industry maintains a very stable workforce for the tenth consecutive year.
As at 31 December 2019, the Observatory counted 147 600 employees: a gain of 200 people compared to 2018. Staff departures, which rose by 10% compared to 2018, are offset by on-going recruitment, which in 2019 reached the highest level in history (16 230 people, a 6.9% increase over one year).
According to the report, the most remarkable development in 2019 was the growing issuing of permanent contracts (CDI), which reached 56.7%.
The feminization of the workforce is also maintained, with 60.8% of women in the insurance industry. The percentage of female managers rose from 45% in 2009 to 51% ten years later.
