The digitization of medicine and the IT development favour the use of artificial intelligence in the health sector. Nowadays, some of the latest softwares can, without human intervention, analyse medical imaging and establish a diagnosis.

According to an American study, such a technological advancement might give way to insurance fraud. In a medical diagnosis, every term is meaningful and decisive and the fact that it is determinant for the compensation of medical fees increases the risk of fraud.

While waiting for a more precise technology to be developed, the researchers urge the authorities to set up a medical data certification body in order to avoid all confusion.
