Health insurance fraud reporting service launched in China

The National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA) has developed a new service accessible via the “WeChat” mobile application.

Social organizations and the general public can now report suspected health insurance fraud through this service.

Tipsters will receive a reward ranging from 200 CNY (27.4 USD) to 200 000 CNY (27 400 USD).

This initiative is part of the local government's strategy to combat massive health insurance fraud in China. In 2024, health insurance supervisory authorities recovered a staggering 27.5 billion CNY (3.8 billion USD) in embezzled funds and arrested 10 741 suspects.
