India and Pakistan hit by deadly floods

The provisional death toll has risen to 100, while several people have been hospitalized.

The heavy rains also caused extensive material damage, including the collapse of walls, roads and bridges, as well as the disruption of air and rail traffic.

A similar disaster occurred on 1 August 2024 in Lahore, Pakistan's second most populated city, where at least 30 people lost their lives.
The local meteorological services reported that some 360 millimeters of rain fell in the space of three hours. This was one of the worst meteorological events ever recorded in the country.
