According to the Indonesian Life Insurance Association (AAJI), the local life insurance market recorded a turnover of 87.6 trillion IDR (5.4 billion USD) in the first half of 2025, marking a 1% year-on-year decline.
Conventional life insurers reported total premiums of 75.61 trillion IDR (4.7 billion USD) for the period, reflecting a 2.3% decrease compared to the same period last year.
In contrast, Family Takaful contributions reached 11.99 trillion IDR (737.8 million USD), up 8.2% from 11.08 trillion IDR (677.3 million USD) in the first half of 2024.
