Kidnapping insurance offered by some insurers

Several Swiss insurers are offering kidnapping insurance guarantees. This coverage may also provide for the payment of ransom.
Today, a maximum of a few hundred contracts have been signed. The annual premium ranges between 5000 and 20 000 CHF, (6000 to 24 000 USD) for a standard contract.

Rates vary according to wealth, the region affected, or the number of people covered. Chartis Group, present in Switzerland, entered into partnership with the American company Clayton Consultants to manage this type of contract.
