Life insurance in 2006

The life insurance overall turnover for 2006 has reached 201.9 billion ZAR (29 billion USD) against 163.6 billion ZAR (23 billion USD) in 2005, that is, a 23% increase. This result is the highest since 2002. The new underwritings have amounted to 50.2 billion ZAR (7 billion USD) against 44.2 billion ZAR (6 billion USD) in 2005, that is, a 14% rise.
