Mandatory insurance for visitors in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti national assembly approved a bill requiring foreigners to purchase a health insurance policy during their stay in Kuwait. No entry visa is issued without a health insurance cover.

The objective of this legislation is to make the medical care provided by the country's public facilities available to residents only. In addition, only emergency care will be accessible to foreign visitors.

The price of such coverage has not been fixed yet. The law will be implemented following its publication in the Official Gazette, which would take several months.
