Oman Re has published its key business indicators for the first half of 2025. Reinsurance revenue rose by 8% to 26.5 million OMR (68.8 million USD).
Gross written premiums (under IFRS 4) stood at 36.7 million OMR (95.5 million USD) compared with 35.4 million OMR (92 million USD) at the end of June 2024, reflecting an increase of 3.8%.
For the first six months of the current year, the sole Omani reinsurer's net profit more than doubled to 2.2 million OMR (5.8 million USD). This strong growth was mainly driven by a 171% surge in net reinsurance revenue to 962 000 OMR (2.5 million USD).
The combined ratio improved by 2.8 points to 95.4%, compared with 98.2% a year earlier.
At 2 million OMR (5.2 million USD), investments and other income were up 25% year-on-year.
During the reporting period, Oman Re's shareholders' equity stood at 38.8 million OMR (101 million USD).
