Preventing and fighting against cyber risks in France

According to insurance and reinsurance professionals, cyber attacks will be the main threat over the next five years.

In this perspective, France Assureurs presented six concrete proposals for the prevention and fight against cyber risks:

1. include awareness of cyber risks in the curriculum of young students (primary, secondary, high school)
2. clarify the French government and the European Union's position on the legality of the insurability of ransom payments in the context of cyber attacks, in order to provide a framework for their payment
3. develop a culture of cyber risks within companies and local authorities
4. increase specific awareness efforts among very small businesses, the main targets of hackers
5. Establish a European framework for access to data from connected vehicles
6. make additional training for digital skills eligible for apprenticeships and strengthen support for insurance employees in a context of digitalization of activities
