State support for Bahraini companies affected by Covid-19

The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) aims at supporting the private companies that were most affected by Covid-19.

Thus, it plans to cover up to 50% of the stuff salaries for three additional months starting from July 2020. To be eligible, the employees should be employed and insured through the National Employment Programme.

The coverage will be provided by the Unemployment Insurance Fund. The government has also granted three additional months for the payment of electricity and water bills.

The sectors most affected by the pandemic in Bahrain are: Air transport, hotels, industry and administrative services.
