The Suez Canal authorities have claimed 2 million USD in compensation

The Suez Canal authorities have claimed 2 million USD in damages for the loss resulting from the accident of the Greek tanker which caused 5000 tons of crude oil to leak into the water of the canal. The dispute settlement is currently the subject of talks with the P & I club, the oil tanker's third party liability insurer.
