Tunisian insurance market: H1 2025 results

The Tunisian General Insurance Committee (CGA) has published data showing that the total turnover (net premiums) of the Tunisian insurance market reached 2.248 billion TND (782.5 million USD) at end-June 2025. This represents an 11.4% increase compared to the 2.017 billion TND (639.7 million USD) recorded a year earlier.

Non-life insurance premiums rose by 7.9%, reaching 1.597 billion TND (555.9 million USD) and accounting for 71% of the market.

Meanwhile, life and capitalization premiums grew by 21.1% year-on-year, totaling 651 million TND (226.6 million USD). This segment represents 29% of the total portfolio for the first six months of the 2025 financial year.

In the first half of 2025, Tunis Re reported a 4% growth in turnover, amounting to 123.3 million TND (42.9 million USD).

During the same period, claims paid by direct insurance companies stood at 1.037 billion TND (361 million USD), compared to 931.3 million TND (295.4 million USD) in the first half of 2024, marking an increase of 11.4%.
