W. R. Berkley Corporation expands into India

W. R. Berkley Corporation, an American non-life insurance and reinsurance holding company founded in 1967, has obtained approval from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) to open a branch in India.

Based in the state of Gujarat, “Berkley Insurance Company, IFSC Branch GIFT City” will be headed by Unnati Bajpai. The new CEO will work closely with Shasi Nair, CEO of Berkley Insurance Asia. The Indian subsidiary will start operations in 2025.

Through this expansion, the international group continues to strengthen its presence in Asia.
