Natural catastrophes: the Algerian State pays out 172.5 million USD in compensation

natural disastersThe government has paid out a total of 23.51 billion DZD (172.5 million USD) to cover damage caused by natural disasters in Algeria between 2021 and 2023.

This amount is broken down into 13 billion DZD (95.4 million USD) to cover damage caused by forest fires: acquisition of fire-fighting trucks, compensation for livestock breeders and fruit tree farmers, construction of water points, forest roads and firewalls.

The remaining 10.51 billion DZD (77.1 million USD) was allocated to rural housing and the restoration of homes that were destroyed by climatic events.
