Hannover Re combines its cyber and digital activities

Hannover Re has announced the grouping of its cyber and digital activities as of 1 April 2024. This initiative is aimed at strengthening the group's expertise in fast-growing fields and offering a better response to the needs of insurtechs and clients.

This cyber coverage will be provided by a new reinsurance business unit specializing in cyber risks, managed by Stefan Sperlich, who joined Hannover Re in 2009.

S. Sperlich served in a variety of senior positions within the Group, including Underwriter of the North American reinsurance and structured reinsurance business. He also created and managed Hannover Re's digital business accelerator for the P&C business.

S. Sperlich will report to Silke Sehm, responsible member of Hannover Re's Board of Directors.
