Deadly floods in China

Deadly floods in ChinaGuangdong, China's southeastern coastal province, has been experiencing torrential rains since 18 April 2024, which have resulted in unprecedented flooding.

Four people were reported dead as of 22 April 2024, while ten are still missing in the country's most populous region, home to 127 million people. Almost 110 000 residents have been evacuated.

According to local authorities, the rivers swollen by heavy rainfall are likely to trigger the worst flooding of the century.

On 23 April, a red alert was issued in some parts of southern China.
