Chakib Abouzaid reappointed GAIF Secretary General
Chakib Abouzaid has been reappointed Secretary General of the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) for another four-year term. The decision was taken on the sidelines of the 49th African Insurance Organization (AIO) conference, held from 27 to 31 May 2023 in Algiers, Algeria.
A graduate of the Institut du Financement du Développement du Maghreb Arabe (IFID) and Grenoble Alpes University (France), C. Abouzaid has an extensive background in the insurance sector.
He has held senior positions with several major companies, including AtlantaSanad (Morocco), GroupMed Reinsurance Brokers (United Arab Emirates), Global Takaful Group (Malaysia) and Best Re (Tunisia).
