Wael Al Sharif, CEO of Takaful Emarat, resigns

Wael Al Sharif, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Takaful Emarat has stepped down from his position on 22 August 2023 for personal reasons.

A graduate of Webster University Geneva in Switzerland, W. Al Sharif joined the company in 2013 as CEO. In 2017, he became an advisor to the Board of Directors before being re-elected in 2019 to head Takaful Emarat.

The former CEO worked with AIG for 10 years, from 1995 to 2005, where he held senior positions in Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

In October 2005, W. Al Sharif was appointed General Manager of Metlife for Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, a position he left in June 2013.
