Major structural reshuffle at MAPFRE Group

MapfreThe Spanish insurance and reinsurance group MAPFRE has unveiled a number of appointments and major structural changes.

More than 15 group executives have been assigned new functions. These changes include:

  • Miguel Ángel Rosa appointed CEO of MAPFRE RE
  • Mónica García Cristóbal becomes CEO of Verti Germany, the Group's German subsidiary.
  • José Manuel Inchausti becomes First Vice Chairman, replacing Ignacio Baeza.
  • Fernando Mata is appointed Third Vice-Chairman, while keeping his position as Group CFO.
  • Raúl Costilla is appointed Group's Chief Business Officer.
  • Alfredo Castelo will head a new structure dedicated to people, strategy and sustainability management.
  • Eduardo Pérez de Lema will lead International Insurance, a new operational entity which will combine the activities of the LATAM (Latin America) and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions.

In addition, the CEOs of several regional structures in Latin America have been replaced.

This revamp, which will take effect on 1 January 2024, is aimed at creating simpler, more flexible structures in a general context of economic, social and geostrategic uncertainties.
