US storms: insured losses reach record levels
Steve Bowen, Chief Science Officer at Gallagher Re, estimates that insured losses caused by severe storms in the USA during the first nine months of 2023 have reached 50 billion USD.
According to S. Bowen, 2023 is considered the fourth costliest year in terms of damage caused by hurricanes and storms in the country, after 2005 (135 billion USD), 2017 (69 billion USD) and 2022 (60 billion USD).
