Generali: H1 2023 results

Generali has published its results for the first half of the year in accordance with the new IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 accounting standards.

During the first half of 2023, the Italian group posted a 3.6% increase in written premiums to 42.237 billion EUR (46 billion USD).

Life premiums amounted to 25.888 billion EUR (28.2 billion USD), against 16.349 billion EUR (17.8 billion USD) for the non-life class of business.

The operating result improved by 28% from 2.907 billion EUR (3 billion USD) in the first half of 2022 to 3.721 billion EUR (4 billion USD) on 30 June 2023. The net profit for the same period reached 2.33 billion EUR (2.5 billion USD), representing a sharp 60.9% increase compared to the same period in 2022.
