Awris: clarification from the Chairman of ACAL's Marine Insurance Committee
At the request of Max R. Zaccar, Chairman of the Marine Insurance Committee of the Association of Insurance Companies in Lebanon "ACAL", Atlas Magazine is making the following clarifications to its publication of 30 October 2023. Below is a reproduction of the e-mail received from Max R. Zaccar.
"As Chairman of the Marine Insurance Committee of the Association of Insurance Companies in Lebanon "ACAL", I would like to clarify the following:
- Awris has never stopped underwriting War and SRCC insurance for Lebanon. In fact, SRCC coverage can be extended to the final destination.
- Awris always insures war risks on inland routes.
- To date, our rates have only increased slightly.
- The low interest in war risk coverage is due to the fact that policyholders do not see it as an additional risk."
