Closing ceremony of FANAF's 48th General Assembly

FANAF's 48th General AssemblyThe Federation of African National Insurance Companies (FANAF) has concluded its 48th General Assembly on 21 February 2024. The event was held in Nouakchott, Mauritania, under the theme "Insurance at the service of Africa's economic and social development".

Resolutions adopted by the General Assembly include:

  • adoption of the Executive Board's activity report for the 2023 financial year
  • approval of the 2023 annual accounts
  • approval of the 2024 action plan
  • adoption of the 2024 budget, with income and expenditure set at 777.7 million FCFA (1.3 million USD)
  • annual membership fees for each member company to be maintained at 2.5 million FCFA (4 120 USD), payable before 31 May 2024
  • payment of a 20 million FCFA (32 960 USD) subsidy to the International Insurance Institute (IIA) in Yaoundé for the year 2024
  • approval of membership applications from three companies:
    • Coris Assurances (Côte d'Ivoire)
    • Chanas Assurances Vie (Cameroon)
    • Générale Assistance (Tunisia)
  • Registration of two voluntary withdrawals
    • Sanlam Assurance (Guinea-Conakry)
    • Sanlam Assurance (Gabon)
The 49th FANAF General Assembly is scheduled for February 2025 in Marrakech, Morocco.
