Zep-Re and Planet Labs PBC renew their partnership

Zep-Re has extended its partnership agreement with Planet Labs PBC, a leading provider of global data and information.

This collaboration is aimed at covering more than 2 million livestock farmers affected by drought in the Horn of Africa.

To this end, the reinsurer is using Planet's customized solutions to quantify risk, determine compensation amounts and settle claims as quickly as possible.

The partnership between Zep-Re and Planet first began in October 2022 as part of the World Bank-funded DRIVE (Africa De-risking, Inclusion and Value Enhancement) program, in partnership with the Governments of the four countries of the Horn of Africa: Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia. The purpose of the project is to improve livestock farmers' access to financial services in order to reduce the risks of drought.
