Chanas Assurances
Upon the creation of the Société Camerounaise d'Assurances (SOCAR) in 1973, Chanas became one of the two major partners of the very young national company, a privileged position that enabled it to buy out non-life's portfolio when the Cameroonian state decided to free itself from SOCAR.
Jacqueline Casalegno |
Chairman |
Its capacity of adaptation combined with the tenacity and perseverance of its founder have enabled Chanas to rise, in a very short lapse of time, from the status of an intermediary to that of the first insurance company in Cameroon, overtaking large insurance groups like AXA and AGF-Allianz.
The considerable capitalization provided the company with the necessary financial basis, not only to underwrite Cameroonian large risks, but also to develop commercial activities at both national and international scales, with namely, the opening of a subsidiary in Equatorial Guinea. One of the keys of Chanas success stands with the renewal of its human capital. Madam Casalegno has wisely managed to attract competences from various horizons, especially from former SOCAR.
