US increasingly exposed to tornadoes

US increasingly exposed to tornadoesMeteorologists believe that tornado risk in the USA is escalating even in regions where this type of disaster had been previously rare.

Since the start of 2023, tornadoes have claimed the lives of 58 people in ten US states, exceeding the average annual death toll.

In March 2023, the powerful tornadoes that ravaged the town of Rolling Fork in the state of Mississippi caused significant material and human damage.

Residents were unprepared for this natural catastrophe, as the area hadn't witnessed a tornado in over 50 years. Most residents were not insured against this type of event.

Experts are calling on insurers to extend their coverage to other parts of the country.
