The Société Tunisienne d’Assurances et de Réassurances (STAR) has published its financial statements ending 31 December 2018.
The first Tunisian insurer closed the year with a net result of 17.742 million TND (5.894 million USD), that is an increase of 152% compared to 2017.
The earned premiums grew by 6.8% at 359.636 million TND (119.485 million USD). The incurred losses rose by 9% at 278.817 million TND (92.634 million USD).
The net investment income reached 66.861 million TND (22.213 million USD), up by 18.8% over one year.
STAR's board of directors proposed to shareholders a dividend of 3.075 TND (1.021 USD) per share and announced its ordinary general meeting for May 2, 2019.
