UK delays full easing of lockdown

The Delta variant, better known as the Indian variant, has forced the United Kingdom to delay the date of the full easing of lockdown by one month. This is a disappointment for British people who were looking forward to a return to normalcy on Monday, 21 June 2021.

In one week, the number of contaminations soared and hospital admissions increased by 50%. Thanks to vaccination, the number of deaths remains stable.

The United Kingdom will take advantage of the extension of the partial lockdown to vaccinate as many people as possible against Covid-19.
