Over the period 2010-2020, motor insurance premiums have increased by 26.15%. They are driven by the growth of the vehicle fleet which has increased from 38.3 to 55 million insured vehicles.
Over the last ten years, the French market has seen a clear improvement in road safety [4] with a significant drop in road accidents. The number of road deaths and injuries has also been decreasing since 2010.
The evolution over time of the motor incurred losses is 12.2%. This increase is less important than the increase in premiums which amounts to 26.2%, during the same period.
