Generali France has decided to no longer cover ransoms paid by large companies that fell victim to cyberattacks [4] to recover their data.
The insurer has applied this decision since 2017 for risks covering small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
In 2021, AXA France also suspended this type of coverage. This move came in response to the increase in cybercrime in France [5].
