Generali France will no longer cover the ransoms paid by companies victims of cyber attacks

GeneraliGenerali France has decided to no longer cover ransoms paid by large companies that fell victim to cyberattacks to recover their data.

The insurer has applied this decision since 2017 for risks covering small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

In 2021, AXA France also suspended this type of coverage. This move came in response to the increase in cybercrime in France.
