The Société Tunisienne d'Assurances et de Réassurances (STAR) has published its provisional half-yearly results. As at 30 June 2022, the Tunisian insurer has recorded 209.924 million TND (62.2 million USD) in written premiums, which is 4% higher than the same period in 2021.
This growth is driven by the health (8.9%), life (8.1%), motor (3.9%), fire, technical risks and miscellaneous (1.7%) classes of business.
The amount of settled claims has increased by 22.1% from 128.3 million TND (45.9 million USD) during the first half of 2021 to 156.7 million TND (50.9 million USD) a year later.
With 52.6 million TND (17.1 million USD), the company's financial products have progressed by 3.1% over one year.
