Job: Claims Assistant
Job location:Cairo, Egypt
Responsibilities: The successful candidate shall assist Claims Manager in the processing, maintenance and update of Claims Files & Records. credit control function, following up with the missing statements, preparing the requested reports.
Duties/Job details:
The main duties of the Claims Assistant shall comprise amongst others the following:
- Review and acknowledge claims notification received from cedants and brokers
- Maintain proper records of all claims notification and follow up to logical conclusion
- Keep an audit trail of all reported claims
- Ability to manage a portfolio - prompt review of reported claims and analyses of policy liability
- Respond promptly and accurately to client and broker queries
- Prompt processing of reported reinsurance claims recoveries and ensure reinsurance share are correctly calculated
- Prepare claims files for management review and approvals
- Reconciliation of cedants and brokers accounts
- Follow up on claim payments and communicate efficiently to cedants and brokers
- Provide and deliver quality services to cedants and brokers.
- Prompt process and monitor the development of the outstanding claims provision
- Prepare progress reports on claims development and any other management claim reports
- Prompt request of claims supporting documents
- Manage the follow up and reconciliation of cash call credit refunds
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Main competencies required for this position:
- Intimate knowledge of appropriate insurance and reinsurance principles, practices and laws as applicable to different lines of business;
- Good oral and written communication;
- Good skills in business software tools: Word, Excel, Power Point, RMS.
- Client orientation and centricity
- Active listening and ability to respect and take orders from direct supervisors
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a diversified environment
Qualifications and professional experience:
Applicants shall be holders of:
- University Degree in relevant fields (in Accounting, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics or any other numerate degree).
- Good knowledge of claims in Reinsurance/ Insurance companies
- 2 Years of practical experience in a claims role
- Experience in re/insurance companies will be an advantage
- Relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage
- Fluent in English and working knowledge of French and/or Arabic will be an added advantage;
- Nationals of Members state of Africa Re
Salary and benefits:
- Competitive Basic Salary on the Corporation’s Support Staff Grade Level
- Variable pay (Annual Performance Bonus)
- Joint contribution to the Provident Fund (7% of the basic salary paid by staff and 14% by the employer)
