Argentinian farmers expect losses of around 15 billion USD due to severe drought in the country.
The Rosario Chamber of Agriculture (main city in the province of Santa Fe) expects a 45% drop in soybean production while that of Buenos Aires forecasts a 44.6% decrease in wheat production during the 2022-2023 agricultural season. Maize and sunflower production are likely to fall by 24.4% and 10.3% respectively.
This natural disaster [4], which has persisted for three years in Argentina, is directly attributable to the "La NiƱa" climatic phenomenon and to the lack of rainfall.
