Mapfre: net profit down in 2022

MapfreAs at 31 December 2022, Mapfre has recorded a 24.54 billion EUR (26.2 billion USD) turnover, showing a 10.8% increase over one year.

Non-life premiums amounted to 19.342 billion EUR (20.6 million USD) against 5.199 billion EUR (5.5 million USD) for the life class of business.

The annual net profit of 642.1 million EUR (685.4 million USD) has dropped by 16.1% compared to the 765.2 million EUR (866.5 million USD) posted in 2021.

The Spanish group's results were mainly impacted by inflation as well as by major natural catastrophes such as the drought in Brazil and Paraguay and hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico.
